Earth worms, because of their sensibility to pesticides are up to 80% more numerous in organic vs. conventional soil. On Orlando´s farm they found a save haven. But he makes them work in exchange for room and board. The worms give back a lot to the earth: Their movements increase the porosity, aeration, and drainage of the soil. Their waste provides  an elevated concentration of nutrients to the plants and they help with pest control.
